Emily has been working in the legal profession since 2015, first as a paralegal in the field of personal injuries and then from early 2022, bringing her significant practical experience and common sense to the family law teams at DDCS. In October 2022, Emily was admitted as solicitor in the Supreme Court of the ACT and progressed to the role of family lawyer with DDCS Lawyers.

Emily is an outcome focused lawyer and strives to make family law easier for her clients. She is respectful of her clients’ experiences and understands the personal perspective needed in this particular area of the law. Emily focuses on finding solutions that are practical and efficient for her clients, and is specialising in assisting clients to find and formalise out-of-court solutions.

Emily is organised and attentive to the needs and expectations of her clients. She works closely with the Partners and Senior Associates of the firm, in meeting the needs of our clients. Through her compassionate and approachable demeanour, her clients feel heard and put at ease, in what can be a difficult process.

Emily completed a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies in 2016 before succumbing to her desire to become a lawyer, returning to the University of Canberra to complete her Bachelor of Laws. Emily then completed a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice through the College of Law. While studying, Emily worked and supported herself, developing admirable time management skills and a strong work ethic.

Emily is a member of the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia, the ACT Women Lawyers Association and the Canberra Region Family Law Professionals Association.
